Windgate Adventures Celebrates 9 years in Moab!
Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Guten Tag! Goede dag! Xin chào!
Hey! What’s up! This is Eric, owner and lead guide of Windgate Adventures. Thank you for taking a look at the now up and running blog page. Blogging is new for me and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for the outdoors with you from here on out. What you will see here are the tours Windgate Adventures offers in Moab (with many photos of course) throughout the year, remote travels I have been on from around the globe, how to pack for a day of climbing to packing for international travel, trip reports and gear reviews. Being a rock climber for over 30 years, there is not a day that goes by that I don't seek adventure. I want to share this with you.
We have just entered 2019! Happy New Year! Can you believe it? I’m super stoked (California grown) to soon be starting out my 9th season in beautiful Moab, Utah with Windgate Adventures and 14 years living in the most stunning desert in the world. I do have to point out that moving to Moab was a one year plan, Ha! The desert has a solid grasp. Though a hard place to live with extremes, it gets better every day, every year, every sunset. The winter months in Moab are icy cold, incredibly beautiful and silent. We lock up our shop for the winter and will open to feed your adventurous needs on March 1st. You can always contact us via email with any questions. I’m happy to share my knowledge of this vast area and of our tours of course.
Back in the winter of 2010, the idea of owning a rock climbing guide service felt out of reach (literally). The pieces somehow fell into place and I’m back for another action packed year. Super Grateful to all who have been a part of this incredible ride. In the past 8 years I have shown thousands of travelers from all over the world their first rock climbing and canyoneering experiences, most times, second and third experiences as well. Half day and full day single pitch introductory rock climbs to multi-pitch desert towers that I truly can not get enough of. Being on a rope, high above the ground with wind under my feet is my happy place.
Visiting Moab should be on all travelers bucket lists. Though remote, there is no place like it, views that will leave you in awe around every bend. Joining one of our tours will show you a world you may have not known to exist, away from crowds and the feel of being remote but will have you back to town by lunch. No better way to start the day. Learn new skills safely and perhaps you will search out these activities on your future travels or come back for more.
Check back soon. My goal is to get you as psyched on adventure as I am.
